Last week, we celebrated a small picnic event to support Love Parks Week in Feltham, Love Parks Week is an amazing cause which we support to keep Britain Tidy. Their website is so inspiring https://www.keepbritaintidy.org/get-involved/support-our-campaigns/love-parks-2024. Our local park in Feltham is the perfect venue as it is alive with excitement! Our beautiful park is a treasure trove of activities and natural wonders, making it the perfect destination for families and nature lovers alike. Whether you’re looking to play, exercise, or explore, Feltham’s park has something for everyone!
One of the highlights of our local park in Feltham is the massive playground, designed to entertain children of all ages. From swings to climbing frames, it’s a fantastic spot for kids to burn off some energy and make new friends. But the fun doesn’t stop there! For those looking to get active, the park features an outdoor gym, tennis courts, a ping pong table, a basketball court, and even a synthetic race track. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just looking to enjoy some friendly competition, you’ll find plenty of options to keep you engaged.
Love Parks Week was also a wonderful opportunity to deepen our connection with nature. We welcomed everyone saying “Why not take some time to teach your children about the local environment? Identifying common plant and insect species can be a fun and educational activity for the whole family. If you’re new to this, don’t worry! There are many resources available, such as smartphone apps and simple guides from local shops or libraries, to help you get started.” We also encouraged everyone to make some lovely art pieces, encouraging people to recycle and share awareness about climate change.
To make the experience even more rewarding, we encouraged them to set an achievable goal for the family. The aim was to confidently identify five species of trees, five species of wildflowers, and five types of butterflies or other insects. This small challenge can spark a lifelong interest in nature and encourage children to explore the great outdoors.
As we celebrate the beauty of Feltham’s park, let’s also commit to keeping it clean and inviting for everyone. We reminded everyone to take your rubbish home with them after their visit. By doing so, you help preserve the park’s natural beauty and ensure that it remains a welcoming space for all visitors.
We invited everyone to join us in celebrating Love Parks Week by making the most of Feltham’s park last weekend. We were playing sports, enjoying a picnic, and exploring the natural surroundings, there’s was no shortage of ways to enjoy our outdoor spaces. We encouraged everyone to come together as a community to appreciate and protect the beauty of our parks! We have some of the amazing drawings made by children and adults. They would love to have more events similar to this with activities, community spirit and sunshine.
